AREAS
· Square:
· Rectangle:
A = b·h = w·l
· Triangle:
· Parallelogram:
A = b·h
· Rhombus:
· Trapezium:
· Other polygons:
· Circle: A = π·r2
· Circumference: L = 2·π·r
PERIMETERS
The perimeter of a polygon is the distance around the outside of a shape.
For example:
- Square: P = 4 · s
- Rectangle: P = 2b + 2h
- Triangle: P = a + b + c
Exercise: calculate the area and perimeter of these figures:
1.
2.
Solutions: 1) A = 64.57 m2; P = 33.69 m; 2) A = 2.36 m2; P = 9.42 m
