Inequations
Linear inequations
To solve a linear inequation, we have to obtain equivalent inequations until we work out the unknown:
Example 1:
2x + 3 ≤ 4x + 7 2x + 3 – 3 ≤ 4x + 7 – 3
2x – 4x ≤ 4x + 4 – 4x - 2x ≤ 4 x ≥ -2
x є [-2,∞)
NOTE: don’t forget to represent the interval
Example 2:
Exercise. Solve the following linear inequations:
Solutions: a) [-47/2,∞); b) (-∞,32/13); c) [7,∞)
