1. Calculate two consecutive natural numbers whose product equals 992.

2. Calculate the dimensions of a rectangle which has a perimeter of 24 m and an area of 32 m².

NOTE: If a = 1, the equation is x² – sx +p = 0, where “s” is the sum of the solutions and “p” is their product.

 

Exercises: solve the following problems and check the solution/s:

1.-  The product of a number increased 3 units by the same number decreased 4 units, is 98. Find out the number.

2.-  Calculate the perimeter of a swimming pool, knowing that its length is 3/4 its widht and the area is 12m².

3.-  Calculate the length of the catheti of an isosceles triangle whose area is 50m².

4.- Find the quadratic equation whose solutions are -3 and 7 and check it.
