Variables
The statistical variable is the characteristic that we are studying about every individual. Example: age, height, colour of his car, the political party that he votes for…
There are different types:
- Qualitative (or categorical) variable: if it isn’t a numerical one. Example: colour of eyes, politic party,..
- Quantitative variable: if it is a numerical one. There are two types:
- Discrete quantitative variable: If it takes isolated values. Example: number of children.
- Continuous quantitative variable: if it takes any value between two specified values. Example: height.
